Nicholas is 1 month old!!

Well Nicholas is 1 month old and we can't believe it. He weighed 10 lbs a week ago so we are anxious to see what he will be up to at his Dr appt on the 7th. He is doing very well but def has his fussy times and those are the times I love only being a Grandma! I hand him to his mother and say here ya go!! ;)
Gramps always seems to have the magic touch with him though - he was screaming for a bit and he took him and he shuts up as you can see in the first picture!

Life definitely goes by fast - wasn't that long ago that Nick and Anton would dance around in their 'under-roos'!!

Easter

Nicholas is two weeks old!!

Well it has been a fast two weeks and Nicholas is doing well. We went to South Bend yesterday so he could meet his Great Aunt and Uncle, which he enjoyed, and be circumcised, which he did NOT enjoy!! ;) But he is doing fine today and healing nicely. We joke that the circumcision 'scared' him straight as he has been a difficult baby to nurse with doing it correctly, latching on, and nursing for a long enough period - literally since the circumcision and we put him back in Christie's arms, she went to nurse him and she said he latched on like there was no tomorrow and has been nursing like a pro ever since!! He in turn has been a much happier, quieter, and more content baby which makes everyone happier!!

Well Nicholas is a week old already and he is doing great. He will only have to go back to the Dr on Monday if he still has yellow in his eyes, otherwise he is good to go until his one month check-up. He has been doing better at night too which they are thrilled with - he will sleep for a good 5 hours then Chris will get him up to feed him and he will go back down for a few more hours til morning when she gets him up - hopefully that will last!!

Well his levels were down so he is good to go!! He has a follow-up appointment with the Dr on Friday for another re-check, but he is home and doing well =)

Praying for the best

Well Nicholas has been struggling with jaundice. He went to the Dr yesterday and his levels were high, he went back today to be retested and they were unfortunately higher. He goes back again tomorrow and if they are still as high, he will be kept at the hospital and put under the lights. Christie is supplementing with bottles to help flush his system, so we are praying they will be down so he can stay home.

Nicholas is home!

Well Nicholas is home and a true joy. Luckily, we don't hear him cry from our bedrooms upstairs!! He has been trying to adjust to life outside of the womb and at times I don't think he is very fond of it ;) He got to meet Ava Isabella yesterday and I am sure one day they will be buddies. Ava is the baby of the family that Christie used to nanny for and is one month older than him.
